DMITRI KANOVICH

Independent judgment built on operating experience.

I have spent nearly 35 years working at the intersection of business, investment and information technology — as a programmer, CIO, Head of Revision and Control, Shareholder’s Advisor and senior adviser to CEOs.

I have been responsible for information technology investment in multibillion-dollar international businesses with aggregate I.T. budgets exceeding $1.5 billion and have reported directly to shareholders’ Supervisory Boards.

My experience spans Manufacturing, Financial Services, Telecommunications, Oil & Gas and Retail, including major business transformation and information technology programs.

That experience has shaped a simple conviction:

Some of the largest information technology problems are not technology problems at all.

They are consequences of business and investment decisions made earlier.

That is why my work begins with the business.

MY ROLE

I do not presume to have every answer or to know a company better than the people who run it.

My role is to bring an independent perspective, ask the questions that need to be asked, challenge assumptions and engage the appropriate expertise when required.

My value is not in knowing every answer. It is in knowing what must be questioned.

“Thought provoking, non conventional, always at the intersection of Business and I.T.”

— Piercarlo Gera, former Senior Managing Director, Accenture
